Mission's Team Purpose
The purpose of the mission’s team at CAC is to bring to life a vision for the mission’s emphasis of the church. This will include caring for and encouraging missionaries, motivating the church body to give, pray and go, organizing the annual missions event at the church and ensuring missions is a vital and integral part of body life at CAC
This purpose is accomplished through three main avenues. First, CAC has annual mission’s conferences. These conferences occur each Spring and entail bringing in missionary speakers who not only share on Sunday morning, but also spend time with the children and youth during the week. We also have a special time of mission’s emphasis in the fall as well when we invite a missionary or special mission’s speaker to speak.
Secondly, CAC has developed a relationship with the Christian and Missionary Alliance missionaries in the Dominican Republic. Each year one or more teams travel to the Dominican to serve primarily through construction an children’s ministries. Over the last three years approximately 100 adults and youth have traveled to the DR to participate in these ministries. If you are interested in being part of our next trip in February of 2009 please contact pastor Bob Thomas at bobt@butlercac.org
The third avenue is a mission’s emphasis that exists throughout the year that includes teaching on missions, prayer support for missionaries, field support for various Alliance missionaries around the world, etc.
If you are interested in being more involved in the missions emphasis here at CAC or you would like more information about missions please feel free to contact pastor Bob Thomas. You can also visit the Christian and Missionary Alliance Web site at cmalliance.org and click on the “Missions” tab on the left. It is a great place to learn more about missions, and discover what the Alliance is doing around the world.
